The Coatesville Market is held on the first Sunday of every month. The market is based around the Coatesville Hall and surrounding village green and in winter it uses the hall and the Playcentre carpark.
You want to come hungry, as this is a huge market with plenty of delightful little stalls (over a hundred, according to its website) selling mainly food items as well as local crafts, clothing, art, jewelry, plants, candles and many more. We had a lovely time wandering from stall to stall admiring the handmade items and salivating over the smell of freshly grilled food wafting through the air.
Whether it is sausages, wraps, tacos, fritters, desserts, pizzas, ice cream or even sushi that you're after, there's bound to be something that will delight your tastebuds here as you walk around and enjoy the friendly, convivial atmosphere surrounded by plenty of greenery.
We particularly enjoyed Hangry, a stall specializing in Kumara and wood-fired wraps, and my mussel fritters were delicious paired with some locally-made sweet chilli sauce from Hearts Content, conveniently available for sale at the stall next to it!
There were also plenty of entertainment for the kids, like a bouncy castle, face-painting and an entertainer with a dancing, singing skeleton, which caught our boys' attention. It was a fun morning, and we look forward to making this visit to Coatesville Market a monthly tradition!
