2009 Geoff Merrill Bush Vine Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre

According to the winemaker, this classic blend combines the 'rich spiciness of Shiraz with the opulently fruity Grenache and the solid backbone of Mourvedre creating a wine which complements a wide range of foods,' and we certainly agree!

This is an excellent blend for the price, elegant and mellow with good structure, luscious blackcurrant and berries on the palate, with earthy, tobacco notes. Medium-bodied with soft, lovely tannins and a long finish, this is a wine that would go well with hearty dishes and meat.

Verdict: A satisfying, rich wine with plenty of berry fruit flavors and gentle tannins. Balanced and delicious.
