2013 Brancott Estate Letter Series Marlborough Chardonnay
This 2013 Brancott Estate (formerly known as Montana) Letter Series Marlborough Chardonnay shows plenty of apricot and citrus fruit aromas together with hints of nutty, toasty characters. A rich, intense wine with plenty of focus and depth, I love the refreshing stone fruit flavors combined with the underlying layer of minerality, which adds to the elegance and complexity of the wine. There is a good level of acidity, and the wine is creamy on the palate with a lingering finish that would pair nicely with a variety of dishes.
Verdict: With its concentrated fruit and balanced acidity, this wine is ideally matched with chicken, rich fish or pork dishes in rich cream-based sauces. Potential to cellar for five to ten years.
