2013 Kumeu River Pinot Gris

According to their website, this everyday drinking range from Kumeu River take its name from the Village wines of France. Made by Master of Wine Michael Brajkovich from sustainably grown Pinot Gris grapes, the grapes are hand-harvested and sorted in their Kumeu Vineyards then gently whole-bunch pressed.

The 2013 Kumeu Village Pinot Gris is imminently drinkable - crisp and dry with aromas of stone fruit, pears and the typical floral perfume that we have come to expect from Pinot Gris. This is a lively, engaging and refreshing wine with a creamy texture, plenty of fruit flavours and spices and lingers on the palate.

Verdict: A refreshing, fruity and lively white wine that will go well with most food. Its intensity and acidity will stand up well with Asian dishes.
